| This
page features news and photos of my other life as
a horse-owner.
This
is Diesel, my partner in riding adventures. He’s
a 15hh, 15 year-old ex-polo pony, ex-stockhorse who
appreciates the good life (defined as lots of food,
equine company, and not too much hard work, thank
you) and has definite opinions on things such as rustling
bushes, killer ducks, grass skis, and jump wings with
flower pots in.

And here’s an informal pic of me and dog Penny.
May 2007. We (Diesel and I) completed
our first 40 km training ride. The ACT Endurance Riders
Association held an introductory endurance event here
in Canberra. Although we took longer than we were
supposed to, Diesel vetted through okay, which is
the main thing. Next time we'll try for a bit more
speed!
August 2007. Equine influenza has
somehow escaped quarantine in Sydney and has spread
to several properties in NSW and QLD. We're in lock-down
here in the ACT--no horses or gear in or out, and
only exercise permitted on the property. So we'll
be going round and round in the arena for goodness
knows how long. Fingers crossed they manage to contain
the outbreak.
